For the second day in a row, the Bangs Lady Dragons split their contests at the Battle on the Bayou softball tournament.
Bangs ended Saturday with an 11-0 victory over Goldthwaite in Early, after falling to Brownfield, 10-7, at the Massey Sports Complex in morning action.
Against Goldthwaite, the Lady Dragons tallied six hits, walked twice and were aided by four Lady Eagle errors.
Abby Wolf, Neeley Bradley, Natalie Ethridge, Mattisyn Taylor, Jaylee Valdez Valdez and Stormy Stringer chalked up the hits, while Bradley drove in two runs and Cheyenne Rush, Justice Baker and Valdez were also credited with an RBI apiece.
In the circle, Rush and Wolf combined to yield one hit with nine strikeouts and three walks over four innings.
In the loss to Brownfield, Bangs was up 7-2 after two innings, but the Lady Dragons allowed four runs each in the third and fourth frames.
The Lady Dragons finished with eight hits – two each by Baker and Bradley, and one apiece by Rush, Wolf, Taylor, Julianna Ethridge, and Adalynne Stephens. Driving in runs were Bradley and Stephens with two RBIs apiece, and Ethridge and Baker with one each.
Bangs (8-2) next travels to Miles at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
