It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jana Charlene Quick, cherished daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who peacefully departed this life on February 7, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on November 20, 1958, in Brownwood, Texas, Jana lived a life filled with love, strength, and resilience.
After graduating from Brownwood High School, she met John Quick, the father of her two children, Amber and John. She divorced later on and then she met Stephen Nichols who would become the love of her life. She was a devoted grandmother to her precious granddaughter, Willow Rose, whose love brought immense joy to her heart. Jana’s unwavering faith was demonstrated through her dedication to God and her church community at Haven of Hope Church.
An accomplished manager in the food service industry, Jana was known for her exceptional culinary skills. She enjoyed creating new dishes and generously cooking for church activities, where her passion for food brought communities together. A true survivor, Jana faced the challenges of Stage 4 cancer with remarkable courage and strength.
Jana had a deep love for animals and is remembered fondly for her fur babies: Prissy, Dabber, Mary Jane, Stella, Nova Blue, and Buttercup. Her spirit thrived in nature, whether she was camping, barbecuing, or tending to her meticulously maintained garden. She found joy in shopping, especially at thrift stores and garage sales, and had a penchant for classic TV shows and gospel music.
Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she adored the color lilac and yellow roses. However, it was her infectious laughter and the warmth of her spirit that will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Jana is survived by her beloved daughter, Amber Quick, her son, John Quick, her mother, Freida Willborn, grandbaby Willow Rose, nephew Jamie Bilbrey and niece Chandra Hinshaw all of Brownwood.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bilbrey; 2 brothers, Brian Bilbrey and James Bilbrey; also, the love of her life Stephen Nichols.
Jana’s life will be celebrated at a service on February 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A visitation will take place on February 17, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the same location. Jana will be laid to rest at Jones Chapel Cemetery, 4356 County Road 346, Early, TX 76802.
