I had this dream of Luka Doncic playing all of his career for the Dallas Mavericks. Last year he led them to the Conference Championship and lost to the Boston Celtics in the title series. They finished second in other words and I think they would have finished first in the coming five years or so.
Well, so be it for that dream! It’s not going to happen. I didn’t think Doncic would ever leave the Dallas Mavericks. I don’t think he wanted to and that’s what shocks me. It’s like Mickey Mantle getting traded midway through his career. It’s just – I don’t know – Roger Staubach was just always a Dallas Cowboy. But, Doncic got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and I think they’ll be real good. Well, they’re going to be real good whether LeBron plays one year or five more years.
Doncic is one of the great players of all time! Well, he will be a former Dallas Maverick before long, or he already is, and we’ll feel it I think for a long time. We got Anthony Davis who is a good player, thirty-one years old, six years older than Doncic, but he’s a good player and I think the Mavericks will stay a contender for the next three or four years.
It makes me wonder if Mark Cuban would have stayed the owner. I mean this was a big time decision and apparently one of the owners doesn’t like Doncic or doesn’t think he is a right fit for the Mavericks.
I’m just mind-boggled! I just can’t believe it! It just shouldn’t haven’t happened! It’s like a story book dream of mine, a childhood dream that’s coming to fruition. I thought Doncic, when Dallas got him, I thought that he was the greatest. He’s adjusted his game correctly. He’s just done everything right and if this is a right move, Los Angeles may win the whole thing this year.
The Dallas Mavericks I haven’t seen play with Anthony Davis, but without him they were a mess. With him they will be better, but better is not, I don’t think, good enough.
Right now I’m just wallowing in the throws of, I think, a horrible trade for the Mavericks. We’ll see! We’ll see!
Until next time, so long everybody.
