Early’s Kayli DeVusser shot in the shotgun portion of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo over the weekend.
The shotgun event consists of three disciplines; skeet, sporting clays and 5 stand.
All shooters compete in a qualifying round in both skeet (50 targets) and sporting clays (100 targets)
In Kayli’s senior lady division, there were 73 shooters in the qualifying round. Only the top 10 advance to the finals, where they shoot an additional 50 skeet targets and 100 sporting targets.
Kayli made finals in both events with a 6th place spot in skeet and 1st place in sporting.
Concluding the sporting final, Kayli tied for second place which sent her to a head to head shoot off. Ultimately, Kayli won the shoot off and earned the Reserve Champion title.
In addition, Kayli was awarded 10th place in skeet.
Kayli has a day of rest and a day of practice before she heads to San Antonio for the San Antonio Stock Show. There she will shoot another 350 targets in qualifying rounds, in hopes to advance to the finals.
