Everyone is welcome to attend a free Opening Reception for the Salon des Refuses at the Brownwood Art Center, 215 Fisk, this Sunday Feb. 9, from 2-4 pm.  The Salon exhibits art works that were not accepted at the Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit, which also opens Feb. 9 at the Depot.  All of the art is for sale.

“We have a great variety of pieces by local artists and from all over Texas,” according to Exhibit Coordinator Donna Lewis.  “About a third of the art is photography, and we have paintings and drawings ranging from realistic to abstract, as well as some fiber art, sculpture, and ceramics.”

The BAA Salon des Refuses will run through Fri. Feb. 21. The Art Center gallery will be open 2-6 pm Mon. through Fri.
