A swearing-in ceremony for three elected Brown County officials was held today at the Brown County Courthouse. Jennifer Broughton was elected to her first full term as County Attorney. Kirk Chastain was elected to his first term as Commissioner, Precinct 1; and David Reid was elected to his first term as Commissioner, Precinct 3. County Judge Shane Britton performed the oath of office ceremony for the three officials.
The City of Early issued the following statement:
“This morning, representatives from the City of Early and the Early Chamber of Commerce attended a swearing-in ceremony at the Brown County Courthouse. This ceremony recognized three members taking their positions in office. County Attorney Jennifer Broughton is starting her second term, Kirk Chastain (County Commissioner Precinct 1), is beginning his first term, and David “Doc” Reid (County Commissioner Precinct 3), who is also starting his first term in this position.
“The City of Early would like to extend a congratulations to all three and thank them for their attributions to public service.”
