The following are highlights from a few of the games involving local teams at the TexasBank Holiday Classic Thursday:
May Tigers 89, Brownwood JV 46
The May Tigers opened play in the TexasBank Holiday Classic with an 89-46 victory over the Brownwood JV Lions Thursday morning at the Brownwood Middle School.
Leading just 22-18 after one quarter, May outscored Brownwood 33-9 in the second period to grab a 55-27 advantage that grew to 76-37 after three frames.
May received 31 points from Brody Stice, 18 from Ben Harrell, 10 from Tyran Perry, nine from Mikey Scheriger, eight from Kobey Morris, four from Wyatt Hardy, three from JD White and two points from Jackson Lusk.
For the Brownwood JV, Massey led the way with 17 points trailed by eight each from Gray and Gilbert, five from Hern and four apiece from Pesina and Stacks.
Later in the day, the Brownwood JV fell to Lingleville, 72-29, and will next face Bangs at 10:40 a.m. Friday at the middle school, while Tigers played just once Thursday and are in action again at 9:20 a.m. Friday against Zephyr, also at the middle school.

Early Lady Horns 50, Hamilton 41
Ozona 41, Early Lady Horns 38
The Early Lady Horns began their stay at the TexasBank Holiday Classic with a 50-41 victory over Hamilton at the Brownwood Coliseum Thursday.
Aliyah Harlan led Early with 18 points followed by 10 from Jamie Vassar, seven from Andie Simpson and six points from Avery Williams.
The Lady Horns were then upended by Ozona, 41-38, in their second game at the Coliseum Thursday as Harlan and Gabby Benson both finished with 13 points and Vassar chipped in six.
Early is back in action at 9:20 a.m. Friday at Warren Gym against Goldthwaite.

Lingleville 57, Zephyr 42
The Zephyr Bulldogs were dealt at 57-42 defeat by Lingleville to start the TexasBank Holiday Classic Thursday morning at the Brownwood Middle School.
Leading 12-8 after one quarter and 23-17 late in the second period, Zephyr fell victim to an 8-0 Lingleville run to end the first half. Down 25-23 at the break, the Bulldogs faced a 39-30 deficit heading into the fourth period.
Wyatt Stevens scored 17 points to pace Zephyr followed by eight each from Bauer Blair and CJ Byers, three apiece from Reese Hamm and Ethan Byers, two points from Hunter Davidson and one point from Spencer Marwitz.
Jorge Toledo, Cruz Alarcon, and Isaac Martinez each poured in 14 points for Lingleville, which later defeated the Brownwood JV, 72-29. Zephyr, which played just once Thursday, faces May at 9:20 am. Friday at the middle school.

Richland Springs 51, Bangs Dragons 44
De Leon 55, Bangs Dragons 47
The Bangs Dragons were handed a pair of losses to open the TexasBank Holiday Classic Thursday.
First, the Dragons dropped a 51-44 decision to the Richland Springs Coyotes at the Brownwood Middle School.
Bangs trailed Richland Springs 16-13 after one quarter, 29-25 at halftime, and 37-34 heading to the fourth period.
Cohen Ethridge and Ethan Deeds scored 12 points each for the Coyotes followed by Hutton Rogers with eight, EJ Aviles with seven, and Troy Kubin and Eli Hutchins with six points each.
The Dragons received 18 points from Ryan Alqoram, nine each from Braxton Wommack and Brennan Mendieta, six from William Hinds, and two points from Aden Jones.
Later Thursday, trailing by 14 points at the start the fourth period, the Dragons trimmed the deficit to three points, 48-45, with 2:02 left in the game, but could not complete the comeback as De Leon held on for a 55-47 victory.
The Dragons trailed 13-8 after one quarter, 31-20 at halftime, and 42-28 after three frames.
Bangs was sparked by 19 points from Alqoram, eight each from Wommack and Hinds, four apiece from Mendieta and Noah Martinez, three from Mason Minshew, and one point from Jackson Moore.
De Leon received 15 points from Jake Cooper and 12 points from Andrew Campbell.
The Dragons will be back in action at 10:40 a.m. Friday against the Brownwood JV at the Brownwood Middle School while the Coyotes will tangle with Bartlett at 8 a.m. Friday at the same location.

Hamilton 73, Bangs Lady Dragons 30
Ozona 36, Bangs Lady Dragons 15
The Bangs Lady Dragons dropped their first two games at the TexasBank Holiday Classic Thursday, first to Ozona, 36-15, then to Hamilton, 73-30.
In the loss to Hamilton, the Lady Dragons surrendered the first 12 points of the game and trailed 38-20 at halftime. Bangs was then outscored 25-0 in the third period as Hamilton put the game away.
The Lady Dragons received 12 points from Joey Newton, seven from Adalynne Stephens, five from Jasmine Lewis, four from Justice Baker, and two points from Ashlynn Sliger.
For Hamilton, Addy Massingill led the charge with 26 points.
Bangs is back on the court at 8 a.m. Friday against Dublin in the High School Auxiliary Gym.
