Michael “Mike” Lowry Finch, 78, of Blanket, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024. A visitation with family will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to Service, Thursday, December 19, 2024 in the Heartland Funeral Home with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
Mike was born June 8, 1946 in Hillsboro, Texas to Clifton and Louise (Lowry) Finch. He went to school in Bynum, Texas, served in the U.S. Army and married Shirley Morgan beginning a life together that blessed them with one son, Scott in 1973. Mike was a very hard-working man who loved ranching and raising sheep. Mike was always quick to help and teach when it came to Stock Show, FFA or 4H when it came to sheep. Mike came to Brownwood about 1978 as an operations manager for Linco Hog Farm. He worked for Superior Cable from the mid 80’s to 2001 when he bough Guthrie Trailer Sales. Mike and Shirley moved from trailer sales to Finch X supply in Early, Texas where they operated a successful feed store for more than 15 years before retiring. Even in retirement, Mike continued help people raise their sheep, show sheep and raised them himself. Mike was known for saying what he meant and doing what he said, he was a man of his word who honored deals done with a handshake.
Mike is survived by his son, Scott Finch of Early; granddaughter, Caitlin Finch of Early; sister, Judy Shronk and husband James of Hillsboro; caretaker, Audrey Samgimu of Early; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Finch; and his parents.
