DUBLIN – The Brownwood Lions’ six-game win streak was snapped by the Clifton Cubs, 68-57, Saturday morning in their final game at the Dublin basketball tournament.
A slow start plagued Brownwood (8-3) as the he Lions trailed 26-5 after one quarter, 37-17 at halftime, and closed to within 48-40 heading into the fourth period.
Casey Friebel scored a team-high 20 points Brownwood trailed by Noah Pyle with nine, Elias Perez with eight, Ross Strasner and Durham Brown with six apiece, Weston Wolf with five, and Devin Eanes with three points.
The Lions are back in action at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the back half of a home doubleheader with the Lady Lions as they welcome San Angelo Lake View to Warren Gym.
