
HAMILTON – The Brownwood Lady Lions punched a ticket to Saturday’s Hamilton tournament championship game against Godley thanks to Friday morning’s 41-22 victory over Llano – the third win of the event for head coach Heather Hohertz’s squad.
The Lady Lions (7-1) shot 48 percent (12 of 25) from two-point territory, 17 percent (5 of 29) on three-pointers, and 50 percent (2 of 4) from the free throw line.
Brownwood also tallied 32 rebounds, including 12 on offense, recorded 11 steals and committed just eight turnovers.
The Lady Lions led 8-7 after one quarter, 16-10 at halftime, and 30-17 heading into the fourth quarter.
Icess Hall and Trinity Roberts both scored 13 points to pace Brownwood followed by five from Nylah Hall, four from Hannah Deen, and two points apiece from Cassidy Brown, Lanie Johnson and Jade Morin.
Saturday’s championship game between Brownwood and Godley will tip off at 5:50 p.m.
