Brookesmith ISD has been partnering with Intersect Power since 2019. In addition to constructing the Radian solar and storage project in Brookesmith, the clean energy company has looked for other ways to collaborate with, strengthen, and improve the community. During her visit to the Grand Opening of the Brookesmith Community Center on September 14 this year, Intersect Power/ Director of Community Engagement Elizabeth Knowles had a lengthy conversation with Brookesmith ISD librarian Teresa Contreras. During their discussion, Knowles learned that Contreras was endeavoring to improve and upgrade the school library by acquiring more and newer titles. As a result of their conversation, and after reviewing the latest circulation data, Intersect Power has donated $6,000 to the school library. According to Contreras, the school will use that donation to purchase 300 new hardcover volumes, and more than a dozen classroom book sets. Brookesmith students deeply appreciate this gift from Intersect Power, which represents a major increase in new and additional books available to them.
