EARLY – The Early Lady Horns stretched their District 8-3A volleyball win streak to three matches with a five-set 25-11, 22-25, 13-25, 25-19, 15-8 victory over Eastland Tuesday night.
Early (16-17, 5-7), which is now in the thick of the 8-3A playoff race battling Comanche and Breckenridge for the league’s fourth and final postseason berth with two matches to go, received eight kills apiece from Jensyn Rasor, Tyley Simmons and Aubrie DeVillier, five from Grey Pruett, four from Jordan Simmons, three from Karley Smith, and one each from Piper Pedersen and Gabby Benson.
Pruett finished with 18 assists while Cassidy Frerichs added 11.
Pruett, Tyley Simmons and Aliyah Harlan each served four aces, while DeVillier tallied two and Jordan Simmons notched one.
Defensively, Benson tallied 23 digs followed by 11 from Pruett, nine each from DeVillier and Frerichs, eight from Tyley Simmons, four from Jordan Simmons, three from Rasor, and one from Smith.
Rasor logged seven blocks at the net while Jordan Simmons contributed three, Tyley Simmons and DeVillier tacked on two apiece and Pruett, Pedersen and Smith were each credited with one.
The Lady Horns host Tolar Saturday and visit Dublin Tuesday to wrap up the regular season.
