I thought I could give you the day off and not have to talk about sports. I’m really not an avid sports fan like some people I hear about are. They picked the University of Texas to win and win the National Championship and I don’t think that’s going to happen. The reason is not because of talent. I believe the reason is, I don’t know, I just don’t think the offense has a chance if you’ve got your starting quarterback going out and laying an egg. The backup, who’s not gifted yet, goes out and does something similar before half time. That’s a bad looking ball club! They came back in the second half and looked pretty good, but not as good as some people. You take the top teams, I don’t know, A&M you have to put them in there. They looked a lot better than Texas did yesterday. Of course they’re playing a lot better opponent. I could just go down the list. Texas went from being the cream of the crop to laying down. I’m discouraged. I think the winning team is probably going to lose one game and there are plenty of unbeaten teams still left, so who knows. I just don’t think it’s going to be Texas and anybody for the National Championship.
That gets me way off of baseball – way off! Apparently it’s going to be Yankees and the Dodgers. Which one of them will it be? I don’t know. I don’t like the Yankees. I don’t like the Dodgers so we’ll see. Houston never did play like a World Champion. Maybe next year. Fact is, you could petty well lay down next year as compared to this year. Maybe it’s too much the same. Yankees – Dodgers one of those – who cares – World Series. I wish both of them could lose.
On the football side, I don’t think it’s going to be Texas this year, maybe just a bowl game. You can tell I’m not real excited about sports today. Derrick Stuckly is not real excited about today, but it happens. It happens!
One of these days, probably before the month is out, I’ll go crazy for you. I’m going to pick the National Champion in football an baseball, and I don’t know, I may pick those but I can almost guarantee you it’s not going to be Texas, and I don’t know about anybody else.
Texas Fight – that’s the song they sing. Texas Fight – wasn’t much fight left in those fans last night. Texas loses and Georgia wins. They looked very good and Texas Fight!
Until next time, so long everybody.
