BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons were dealt a third straight District 5-2A setback Friday, falling at home to Hico, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-18.
Neeley Bradley returned to the lineup and paced Bangs with 12 kills followed by nine from Kasey Solis, five from Ashlynn Sliger, three from Ava Boren, and two each from Cameryn Harmon and Dyan McCurdy.
Boren dished out 12 assists while Bradley contributed eight.
Solis served three aces, Cloey Petty chipped in a pair and Julianna Ethridge added one as well.
Defensively, Bradley logged 18 digs trailed by 16 from Justice Baker, 15 each from Petty and Ethridge, 12 from Boren, three from both Solis and Harmon, and one from McCurdy.
At the net, Solis, Sliger and Harmon each tallied two blocks.
With the loss and Coleman’s win over De Leon Friday, Bangs (15-17, 2-4) and Coleman are now tied for third place in the 5-2A standings. The Lady Dragons must defeat De Leon at home Tuesday to avoid a creating a three-way tie for third-place.
