The Texas Department of Public Safety issued the following information Tuesday morning:
A one-vehicle accident on State Highway 206 (SH 206), 9 miles south of Cisco, claimed the life of the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle. The accident took place at 3:59 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14.
According to the DPS report, Patricia Alldredge Pockrus, 82, of Ranger, was driving a 2008 GMC Sierra pickup truck north on SH 206. The driver veered off the east side of the road and then overcorrected back towards the west, causing the vehicle to skid sideways off the opposite side of the road. The driver then tried to steer back onto the road, but this led to the vehicle overturning in the ditch.
Pockrus was transported to Harris Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. Monday by physicians.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt, weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry.
