Howard Payne University has announced its 2024 Homecoming Court nominees. The students will be featured on a float during the Homecoming parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Later that day, the Homecoming Court will be crowned during halftime at HPU’s football game versus University of Mary Hardin-Baylor at Brownwood’s Gordon Wood Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
Homecoming King nominees are Trevor Bowers, Peyton Lowe and Jack Shackelford. Queen nominees are Amada Menchaca, Regan Noel and Ryleigh Watson. Prince nominees are Luke Moss, Blaine Onick and Diondray Parker. Princess nominees are Brenna Douthit, Hannah Noel and Georgia Simmons.
Homecoming Queen Nominees
Amada Menchaca is a kinesiology major and Spanish minor from Blanket, Texas. She is a member of HPU’s golf team, cheer team, Delta Chi Rho and SAAC.
Regan Noel is a business marketing major from Crosby, Texas. She is a resident assistant for Veda Hodge Hall, member of HPU’s women’s soccer team and SAC. She serves as an intern for the college ministry at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Ryleigh Watson is a communication major from Rio Vista, Texas. She is the president of Chi Alpha Omega, host of campus-wide podcast “The Sting” and staff writer for The Yellow Jacket newspaper.
Homecoming King Nominees
Trevor Bowers is biomedical sciences and allied health sciences major from Bangs, Texas. He is a member of Student Activities Council (SAC), Tri-Beta, and Delta Epsilon Omega. He is a biology mentor and works in the Office of Student Experience.
Peyton Lowe is a mathematics major and business minor from Gunter, Texas. He is a member of HPU’s football team and Student Athlete Academic Committee (SAAC).
Jack Shackelford is a finance major from Midlothian, Texas. He is a member of HPU’s baseball team, SAC, Delta Epsilon Omega and Gamma Beta Phi. He is a student worker in the Office of Admissions and an intern for the college ministry at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Homecoming Princess Nominees
Brenna Douthit is a nursing major from Waxahachie, Texas. She is a member of HPU’s women’s soccer team, SAC and is a student referee for HPU’s Intramurals.
Hannah Noel is a business management major from Crosby, Texas. She is a member of HPU’s women’s soccer team, SAC and is a student worker for HPU’s Wellness Center.
Georgia Simmons is a kinesiology major and communications minor from Bogata, Texas. She is the chaplain of Delta Chi Rho, member of SAC, and student worker for the Office of Admissions.
Homecoming Prince Nominees
Luke Moss is an English and Bible major from Brownwood, Texas. He is the president of Delta Epsilon Omega, is a member of the Baptist Student Ministry Lead Team, serves in SAC and works in the HPU Stinger Store.
Blaine Onick is an accounting major and Christian studies minor from Midland, Texas. He is a member of HPU’s golf team, Delta Epsilon Omega, SAAC, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a student worker in the Office of Admissions and an intern for the college ministry at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.
Diondray Parker is a kinesiology and youth ministry major from Borger, Texas. He is a resident assistant for Jennings Hall and member of Delta Epsilon Omega. He serves as an intern and small group leader at First Methodist Church.
