Edward Lewis Scott, 65 of San Antonio TX, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 12, at 11:30 a.m. at Greater Faith Community Church with burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Church.
Edward, (AKA MadDog) was born in Houston, TX to Dorothy Wilcots (Thomas) and Joe Scott on August 26th, 1959. The family later moved to Brownwood, TX, where Edward was raised and attended school. He excelled academically and athletically in high school, where he was a standout football player, earning him the nickname “MadDog”. Football was a passion that would remain close to his heart throughout his life which bore his loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Edward was a true neighbor and friend, always ready to lend a helping hand in his community. Every Sunday was a day dedicated to giving back, as he found joy in supporting those around him. His legacy of kindness, love, and community service will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Edward will be deeply missed.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Scott and Dorothy Thomas (Wilcots); his grandmother, Mathewrene Watson; his sister, Rosa Scott; niece, Peret Lister; and close friend, Patricia Mitchell.
Edward is survived by his daughters, Edwina Barnes and Latoya Scott; his brother and wife, Michael and Carmelita Thomas; his brother and wife, Benjamin and Aundrea Scott; his brother Joe Scott; his sister, Margaret Thomas; his sister and husband, Johnnie and Macio Tennie; his sister and husband Darlene and Don Sparks; his sister Milicent Scott; his dear friend, Doris Fletcher, mother of Latoya; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends that love and will miss him dearly.
