EARLY – The Early Lady Horns tumbled to 2-6 in District 8-3A volleyball action and 13-16 on the season with Tuesday’s straight-set home loss to Millsap, 25-15, 26-24, 25-23.
In a rematch of the league opener that the Lady Horns pushed to five sets on the road, Early received six kills from Aubrie DeVillier, five from Tyley Simmons, four from Jensyn Rasor, three from Ellie Shea, two from Grey Pruett and one from Gabby Benson.
Pruett led the way with 12 assists, Cassidy Frerichs added four and Karley Smith chipped in one.
Benson and Aliyah Harlan each served for aces for the Lady Horns.
Defensively for Early, Benson’s 19 digs were a team-best followed by nine from DeVillier, six from Harlan, five each from Pruett and Frerichs, three from Simmons, two from Smith, and one each from Shea and Hallie Thornberry.
At the net, Smith recorded two blocks and Rasor, Simmons and Shea each registered one.
The Lady Horns are back in action at 4 p.m. Friday at Peaster.
