Courtney Parrott, County Extension Agent for Family and Community Health of Brown County, Texas was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) 90th annual session, whose theme was “Under One Sky.” She received the NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award at the conference held September 16 -19th in Tucson, Arizona.
In receiving the award, Parrott was recognized for a decade of membership to NEAFCS and her commitment to fulfilling the mission of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, which is to enrich Texans with knowledge and services in agriculture and life sciences. She has served in 2 counties in Texas and is a level III Extension Agent.
The NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award is the highest award presented by the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and is sponsored by the NEAFCS awards fund. The award recognizes members for leadership, outstanding program efforts and personal and professional development. Parrott’s commitment to meeting the needs of individuals, families and communities is exemplary.
