Myra Nell Carter Gore answered the call of her Savior on September 28th, 2024. Myra Nell was born on November 29, 1927 to Alice Ladora Hilliard and Milburn Carter in Comanche. Myra Nell attended school in Comanche where she met the love of her life, Billy Wayne Gore, on a band trip their freshman year. Bill left for the war in 1945 and she wrote him a letter every day he was gone. Upon his return he said, well, I guess we better get married, and they did on October 2, 1947. Myra Nell was a true homemaker. In July 1949 their first son David Wayne was welcomed into the world. In September 1952 Jerry Norman was born and in November 1959 the family was completed with Martin Turner. In the boys growing up years her house became the gathering spot. All the neighborhood kids were welcome and knew you were treated the same as her own. When Bill passed in 1977, she found herself a young widow at 49 years old. With the first grandchild almost 2 and the second one on the way she found God’s saving grace. She continued life on her terms. Loving 10 grandchildren and their spouses deeply, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Myra Nell was the friend that always had an open door. Stop in and visit or talk on the phone, catching up was always the best time. She never failed to ask about those members of our lives that were not really her own. As she saw it, she loved you, so she loved yours. Myra Nell traveled and spent lots of time with friends. She was a member of many bridge groups in town and enjoyed gambling every now and then. Myra Nell was avid at word searches, but she was most known for her beautiful cross-stitching pieces. She lovingly stitched 100s of pieces and framed many of them for everyone around. She even entered a handful in the Arts and Crafts Fair at the Pow Wow winning awards for her handiwork. Myra Nell also took up making stockings and every grandchild and great grandchild had a special one made for them along with many close family friends. Myra Nell was a member of Central Christian Church and was a member of the local American Cancer Society for many years.
