The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued the following information regarding a Sunday morning pursuit:
On Sunday, Sept. 22 at approximately 10:48 a.m., Deputy Thomas Beloat was patrolling the 1300 block of Early Blvd. when he observed an orange motorcycle traveling west on Early Blvd. run the red light at the intersection of US Highway 183 South and Early Blvd, almost causing a traffic accident.
Beloat initiated his lights and sirens attempting to catch up to the motorcycle which was traveling at a high rate of speed down Garmon Drive/US 183 South attempting to evade the patrol vehicle.
Deputy Michael Wilson joined in the pursuit of the motorcycle, which moved to FM 2126 in a westbound direction. Beloat reported traveling 118 mph at one point during the pursuit and was still unable to catch up with the motorcycle.
Beloat suspended his pursuit at that point at the intersection of FM 2126 and FM 45.
Brownwood Police Officer Noah Acord later discovered a motorcycle and driver that matched the description reported by Beloat at 109 Lakeview Court. Beloat and Deputy Hayden Donahoo arrived at the scene and confirmed the motorcycle was the one being pursued earlier.
Acord informed Beloat and Donahoo that the suspect, Parker Alan Goodwin, had a pistol on his hip at the scene and he was eventually arrested for charges of evading arrest, reckless driving, failure to stop at a traffic light, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
