Freshman Lions 34, Waco La Vega 0
WACO – The Brownwood Freshman Lions improved to 4-0 on the season with a 34-0 road victory over Waco La Vega, 34-0, Thursday. The Freshman Lions have now outscored their opponents 158-18 this season.
The Lions scored first in the opening quarter on a 2-yard run by quarterback Caden Wilson, and Aiden Jimenez added the extra point.
Brownwood opened a 14-0 halftime lead as, in the second period, Wilson connected with Brody Bolton on a 26-yard touchdown pass, and Jimenez booted the PAT.
The Lions’ lead was 21-0 after three quarters as Trent Buffington scored on a 3-yard carry and Jimenez contributed the extra point.
Brownwood tacked on a pair of fourth-quarter scores as Buffington scored after a blocked punt at the La Vega 5, and Jimenez converted the PAT, then Hudson Deen returned an interception 94 yards for a touchdown on the final snap of the game.
Defensive standouts included Christian Gray with seven tackles, including one for loss, and two sacks; Hutton Malone with six tackles; Bolton with four tackles and one for loss; Deen added four tackles with one for loss; and CK Vasquez tallied three tackles, two for loss, and a sack.

JV Lions 40, Waco La Vega 0
WACO – The Brownwood JV Lions have still yet to experience defeat following their most lopsided victory of the season, 40-0 over Waco La Vega Thursday.
The Lions (3-0-1) forced three turnovers as Durham Brown and Isaac Gonzalez each intercepted a pass and Kadyn Avalos recovered a fumble.
Offensively, freshman quarterback Riggs Gray ran for over 100 yards with two touchdowns, and threw for more than 150 yards with two touchdown passes to Conner Cornelius.
JJ Lopez and Matthew Rodriguez both scored a rushing touchdown, while Cornelius, Matthew Rodriguez, and Nick Rodriguez all contributed two-point conversions.
The Lions will host China Spring next Thursday at 6:30 p.m., following the freshman game at 5 p.m.

Cisco 28, Combined Team 22
CISCO – The Brownwood Lions Combined Subvarsity Team slipped to 1-3 on the season with a narrow 28-22 loss at Cisco.
Cannon Calvert scored two touchdowns on the ground for the Lions, while Lajon Bush added a rushing score and a two-point conversion.
Defensive standouts included Brayden Tlahuel-Torres with eight tackles, Eli Waldrop with seven tackles and a forced fumble, Jacob Green with five tackles, and Tyson Norway with a fumble recovery.
