Freshman Lions 34, Glen Rose 6
GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Freshman Lions kept their flawless record intact with a 34-6 road victory over Glen Rose Thursday, and have now outscored their foes 124-18.
The Lions (3-0) defense got a stop on the first possession, then the offense scored on its first offensive play with a 56-yard touchdown run by Caden Wilson, and Aiden Jimenez added the PAT.
In the second quarter, a Jimenez interception stopped a Glen Rose possession, then Wilson scored again on an 18-yard carry to boost the lead to 13-0, where it remained through halftime.
The Lions tacked on a pair of third-quarter touchdowns on a 48-yard run by Wilson, and a 62-yard interception return by Hudson Deen, and Jimenez converted extra points after both for a 27-0 advantage.
Brownwood scored once more in the fourth quarter as Wilson connected with Juston Burt on a 6-yard scoring toss, and Jimenez again booted the PAT.
Glen Rose’s long touchdown came on a kickoff return following the Lions’ final trip to the end zone,
Other defensive standouts for the Lions included Christian Gray, Maddox Mendoza, Hudson Fry, and Hutton Malone.

JV Lions 12, Glen Rose 8
GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood JV Lions ran their record to 2-0-1 with a 12-8 road victory over Glen Rose Thursday night.
In a tough, back and forth defensive battle, the Lions were able to make enough plays on both sides of the ball to win the game.
Freshman quarterback Riggs Gray threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Conner Cornelius, while JJ Lopez scored a rushing touchdown late in the third quarter to take the lead.
The Lions defense came up with two huge stops deep in Brownwood territory late in the fourth quarter.
Durham Brown recorded an interception and a long return to set up the Lions’ first touchdown.
The JV Lions will visit the Waco La Vega JV Pirates at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, following the freshman game at 5 p.m.

Combined Team 54, Lake Belton 18
The Brownwood Lions Subvarsity Combined Team earned its first victory of the season Wednesday at Gordon Wood Stadium, dominating Lake Belton, 54-18.
Down 6-0 early, the Lions (1-2) opened a 24-12 halftime advantage and continued to pull away after halftime.
Among the offensive standouts, Cannon Calvert finished with three passing touchdowns and a two-point conversion on the ground; Hayden Christiansen caught a touchdown and scored a two-point conversion; Lajon Bush scored on a pass, a kick return and added three two-point conversions; Jacob Green caught a touchdown pass and chipped in a two-point conversion; and Eduardo Hernandez, Kayson Patterson, and Brayden Middleton each scored on the ground.
Defensively for the Lions, Brayden Tlahuel-Torres (9 tackles), Jacob Green (5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery), Hayden Christiansen (4 tackles, 1 sack), Santos Chavez (4 tackles), Daniel Bates (4 tackles), Ryan Pena (4 tackles), Andrew Roberts (1 forced fumble), Michael Dodson (1 forced fumble), and Brayden Middleton (1 fumble recovery) all shined.
