LUBBOCK – The Brownwood Lady Lions on Saturday competed in the Lubbock ISD Invitational, held at Mae Simmons Park, site of the Region I-4A meet, and earned a fourth-place team finish in the Class 4A competition.
The Lady Lions tallied 106 points which left them behind only Canyon Randall (42), Canyon (60) and Dumas (68). The top four teams from each region will advance to state later this fall.
Sidney Windham led the way for the Lady Lions with a fifth-place effort of 12:33.9, followed by Kate Tindol (14th, 12:58.7), Kylea Karnes (26th, 13:29.8), Rebekkah Delgado (29th, 13:39.1), Haylee Adkins (33rd, 13:53.5), Talia Craff (49th, 14:24.6), and Braycee Lee (63rd, 14:48.2).
The Lions placed 13th in the boys portion of the meet as competitors included Bennett Windham (26th, 18.17), Aidan Pena (68th, 19:52.1), Jayden Sanchez (87th, 20:13), Noah Lambert (88th, 20:13.4), Stephen Rodriguez (96th, 20:38.4), Hayden Muir (97th, 20:39.2), and Ross Strasner (108th, 20:58.7).
