Festival organizers from the City of Brownwood have unveiled Wednesday a new lineup featuring acclaimed BBQ pitmasters and smokehouses that have been selected to participate in the inaugural Feels Like Home Festival, kicking off this fall on Saturday, October 19. GA and VIP passes are on sale now at www.FeelsLikeHomeFest.com.
Continuing its showcase of true Texas culture, Feels Like Home Festival brings more than just music to center stage. Now, festival-goers will have the opportunity to explore a carefully curated selection of craft barbecue joints, all of which are based in the Lone Star State.
Pitmasters from each of these acclaimed eateries will bring their unique flair to the festival, ensuring an unforgettable Texas BBQ experience for hungry attendees:
-
Hurtado Barbecue (Fort Worth) – Featured in Texas Monthly’s latest official list of the “Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints” (2021) with several popular locations across the greater DFW area including Fort Worth, Arlington, Mansfield, and inside the Texas Rangers baseball team’s new stadium
-
Hill City Chop House (Tolar) – Named to Texas Monthly’s list of “25 Best New and Improved BBQ Joints” after opening the doors to its first brick-and-mortar location just last year
-
Pody’s BBQ (Pecos) – Considered one of the nation’s most revered BBQ joints as a multi-year honoree on Texas Monthly’s list of the “Top 50 Texas BBQ Joints”
-
Olmos BBQ (Fort Worth) – Drew inspiration from a rich family tradition to create a popular pop-up that prides itself on its signature BBQ tacos
-
Victorian’s Barbecue (Mart) – Led by a pitmaster with three decades of experience and best known for their appearance on Netflix’s hit show “Barbecue Showdown”
Beyond these mouthwatering food options, Feels Like Home Festival at its core is meant to serve as a new annual celebration of music and community that captures the spirit of rural Texas while celebrating the unique charm and warmth of Brownwood.
Chart-topping country music trio Midland has been tapped to headline the inaugural fest, alongside Texas favorites Casey Donahew and Micky and the Motorcars; and rising stars like Tyler Halverson and Hudson Westbrook all gracing the festival main stage.
Between the combination of authentic Texas barbecue, incredible musical performances from some of country music’s finest, and engaging fan activities intended for guests of all ages, Feels Like Home Festival has become one of Texas’ must-attend events this fall season.
Organizers hope to provide residents with incredible performances from some of today’s most sought-after country music acts set to the backdrop of Brownwood’s brand new top-of-the-line Brownwood Event Center while providing a positive and substantial economic impact on the surrounding community.
“We are excited to include this lineup of barbeque pitmasters at the inaugural Feels Like Home Festival,” said Mayor of Brownwood Stephen Haynes. “This will further elevate the event experience along with our other activities and musical headliners.”
