Hazel Colleen Berry Stites, age 85, of Brownwood, passed away September 3, 2024. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Dale Cemetery in Dale, Oklahoma.

Colleen was born on April 22, 1939, in Oklahoma City, to James and Georgia Berry. Her life was built on a love for the Lord. She had no fear of death and knew she would be welcomed by Jesus and many of her loved ones.

Colleen found joy in singing and playing the guitar. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, in addition to serving others. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Colleen is survived by her children, Gary Stites and Jennifer Valdez; grandchildren, Jarrod Jackson, Sarah Hamilton and many more; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Regina Robinson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings and 4 sons, Travis, Mark, Lance and Terry.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Oakridge Manor for the care they provided to Colleen for so many years. Also, for the kindness of the team at Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood who assisted them during Colleen’s last days.
