EARLY – The Early Lady Horns built on the momentum of their silver bracket championship from Heart of Texas tournament over the weekend by snatching a four-set home victory over San Angelo Cornerstone Christian, 28-26, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21 Tuesday night.
The offensive attack for Early was ignited by Jensyn Rasor’s 11 kills along with nine from both Aubrie DeVillier and Tyley Simmons, eight from Ellie Shea, three apiece from Karley Smith and Grey Pruett and one from Piper Pedersen.
Pruett also collected 21 assists trailed by Cassidy Frerichs with 13, while Simmons served three aces followed by Pedersen, Smith, DeVillier and Gabby Benson with one apiece.
On the defensive side of the net, Pruett’s nine digs were a team-best trailed by eight from Benson, six from DeVillier, five from Smith, four from Hallie Thornberry, three from Simmons, two from Shea and one from Frerichs.
Rasor also added four blocks while Pruett, Simmons, DeVillier and Shea finished with two each.
Next up for Early (7-6) is the Bronte tournament Thursday through Saturday.
