A graveside funeral service for Wanda Rasberry, age 71, of New Fairview, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 29, 2024, in Eastlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
Wanda passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at her home.
Evoe Wandalories Pentecost was born on January 23, 1953 in Brady, to Ellis Weldon and Frances Imogene (McGuffin) Pentecost. Wanda was raised in West Texas and graduated from Early High School. After graduating, she married and moved to Mesquite, Texas.
Wanda pursued several careers over her lifetime. She worked in several retail stores, including Wal-Mart. She earned her Certified Nurse’s Aide certificate and worked for several years as a nurse’s aide. She also obtained a real estate license. At age 43, she became Certified Texas Peace Officer. Wanda worked for the Denton County Sheriff’s Office as a detention officer in the jail and later worked in the Warrants Division where she would transport and escort defendants to Denton County from all over Texas and the United States.
Wanda is survived by her son, Tray Rasberry of McAdoo; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Francene Middleton of Decatur and Sherry Byars and husband Terry of Zephyr; a brother, Ellis Pentecost and wife Christine of Brownwood; her aunt and uncle, Bill and Thelma King of Smithville, Mississippi, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
