Soon to be starting her 14th year teaching at Brown County Christian School, Kim Hull said she decided to become a teacher after she homeschooled her own kids.
“I loved teaching my kids and that morphed into me teaching at Brown County when they wanted to go to high school,” Hull said. “I just kind of followed them, and it has been wonderful.”
Hull started her teaching career at Brown County Christian School in 2005 and she said her favorite part of her job is being with her students.
“I get a whole year of their life, 9 months anyway,” Hull said. “Considering how many years they have, that’s a good chunk. It’s fun to watch them grow and learn. Every single class I’ve had, the kids are so good, and the parents are so fun.”
Hull added that she currently teaches kindergarten and first grade, but she has taught K-6 and high school before. She added she is excited for the future of her students.
“Who knows if the kids will be around here when they get older, so it’s fun to imagine where they will go.”
Hull said her favorite teacher growing up was Mrs. Hutchinson, her high school English teacher, and she also loved her first-grade teacher.
