The Texas Department of Public Safety is still seeking information on the June 28 hit and run accident near Bangs that left a pedestrian hospitalized.
DPS issued the following statement Friday afternoon:
On 6/28/24, the Texas Department of Public Safety was called to investigate a pedestrian crash that occurred in the area of Bangs, Texas. The driver of the vehicle involved in this crash did not stop nor provide information after striking the pedestrian. The investigator of this crash is in need of help from the citizens to locate the driver that left the scene. The investigator is requesting assistance from the communities to provide information about this crash. If anyone has any information that would further aide in this investigation please contact Trooper Rachael King, in the Brownwood Highway Patrol Office at 325-646-6867.
At 12:46 a.m. on June 28 on US Highway 67, one-tenth of a mile east mile marker 578 (between County Rd. 174 and Sherwood Dr.) an unknown vehicle struck 19-year-old Pedro Amado Reyna of Brownwood, who was transported to Scott and White Hospital with incapacitating injuries.
