National Weather Service reports 23.27 inches of rain in Brownwood in 2024

According to the National Weather Service Abilene/San Angelo office, as of Friday afternoon Brownwood has received 23.27 inches of rain in 2024, the most of any community in that particular NWS region.

Other yearly totals include:

  • San Saba – 19.46 inches
  • Haskell  – 18.99 inches
  • Mason – 18.07 inches
  • Coleman – 16.55 inches
  • Brady – 16.11 inches
  • Abilene – 14.73 inches
  • Ballinger – 14.5 inches
  • Sweetwater – 9.24 inches
  • Rotan – 9.24 inches
  • Junction – 8.97 inches
  • Mertzon – 7.59 inches
  • Sterling City – 7.02 inches
  • Eldorado – 6.44 inches
  • San Angelo – 6.19 inches

Thanks to the rain, Lake Brownwood is just 2.12 feet below the spillway and 89.3 percent full as of 12:30 p.m. Friday.
