The Brown County Fair Association announced the following Tuesday morning on social media:

Mrs. Helen Chamberlain will be the 2024 Brown County Rodeo Parade Grand Marshal!

Helen was raised in Brown County, and a graduate of Brookesmith High School. She has volunteered for the Fair Association in some capacity since 1967. Her and her late husband, Wayne, former Youth Fair Board President moved to Brownwood after they married in 1954. She has attended the Brown County Rodeo for the past 60years. For 25 years she worked the ticket booth and sold tickets along with selling ads for Rodeo Programs. She was a member of the Youth Fair Board for 9 years, and has served as Board Secretary. It’s only fitting she’s our Rodeo Grand Marshal, she’s a pro at this, having set up and taken entries for past Parades while also riding in the parades and grand entry with Wayne for 15+ years. Helen is recently retired from the Brown Co. USDA Farm Service Agency after 55 years of dedication.

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart. We appreciate Mrs. Chamberlain’s heart for the Brown County Fair Association and the youth of Brown County.

Registration for the 2024 Brown County Rodeo Parade is still underway.
