Eunice Juanita “Nita” Williams Cox, age 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Brownwood, Texas. She was born Sept 2, 1947, to Nathanial Franklin Williams and Ella Kerr Williams.
Nita graduated from Brownwood HS in 1965 and went on to attend the University of Houston. She married Dalton Cox in Brownwood on March 13, 1973. Nita was a loving person. She and Dalton opened their home to many through the years and were always ready to help people from all walks of life. She loved spending time with friends and family and helping those in need.
Nita was a long-time resident and owned several businesses throughout her lifetime in Brownwood and the surrounding areas. She has owned Nita’s Bail Bonds for the last 40+ years and Roadrunner Bail Bonds in Snyder. She worked for many attorneys in town as a paralegal and was known for her knowledge and abilities in the law.
She is survived by her son Frank Cox and wife Kristi of Tomball; bonus sons, Steve Rawlins of Brownwood, Kevin Cox and Karen of Brownwood; as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren and many loving friends that she called family and that lovingly called her “grandma”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Dalton, and her son, David.
The family will host a Celebration of Life on June 14, 2024, at 2 PM at Salt Creek Baptist Church in Early, TX. A time of visitation will begin at 1 pm, before the service.
