According to District Attorney Micheal Murray, during the May 2024 session of the Brown County Grand Jury, 33 true bills were returned against 28 persons.
Those indicted were:
- Bryson Angel: Theft of firearm
- Jason Dale King II: Driving while intoxicated
- Douglas Wesley Barnett: Unauthorized use of a vehicle; Felon in possession of a firearm
- Alexis Nolen: Ct. 1 Possession of a controlled substance; Ct. II Possession of a controlled substance
- Eric Torres: Possession of a controlled substance
- Dustin Wayne Lindley: Felon in possession of a firearm repeat offender/habitual offender
- Stevie Fernandez: Ct. I-II Injury to a child
- Michael Patrick Kellum: Ct. I-II Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon;
- Edmund Burton: Delivery of a controlled substance; Engaging in organized criminal activity
- Brent Jones: Delivery of a controlled substance; Engaging in organized criminal activity
- James Gilbreath: Ct. I-II Attempted capital murder
- Troy Lee Daniel Jr.: Capital murder
- Jason Padilla: Ct. I-III Sexual assault of a child – bigamy
The District Attorney’s Office does not release names on new indictments until after the Grand Jury proceedings have been processed through the District Clerk and a file marked copy of the Grand Jury Report has been returned.
The District Attorney’s Office does not release names of Defendants who have been indicted by a Grand Jury but not yet arrested because of an indictment being sealed until the time of arrest. In addition, names of individuals who have had no formal charges filed against them and who are no-billed by a Grand Jury will not be released by the District Attorney’s Office at this time.
