The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of May 29:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water stained; 79 degrees; 3.63 feet below pool. Water is dirty main lake and muddy towards the rivers. Black bass to 7.71 pounds are slow on jigs, shaky heads and top waters in 2-10 feet. Crappie to 13 inches are excellent under docks on minnows in 6-12 feet. White bass to 12 inches are slow on crankbaits and small swimbaits with some top water action early and late. Catfish are good to 5 pounds on cut or prepared bait at Thrifty Park.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water stained; 72 degrees; 11.79 feet below pool. Bass and crappie are good on minnows in 10 feet of water. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Water stained; 78 degrees; 3.01 feet below pool. Lake Coleman has risen about 10 feet. Very few reports from anglers.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water slightly stained; 76 degrees; 29.80 feet below pool. Black bass are good to 10 pounds on large worms Texas rigged and on shakey heads. Topwater bite is slowing down on big bass, but numbers are still good. Best depths are 8-18 feet. Better bite has been in the evenings last week. Crappie fair. White bass are still good mid lake and main lake chasing schools of small shad that have recently spawned. Catfish are good on rod-and-reel to 15 pounds on cut shad, shrimp and cheese bait. LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 75 degrees; 6.30 feet below pool. Shad are running the shorelines attracting predator fish shallow. The only ones that are not open are Copperas Creek Day Use and Promontory Campground.
