The Early Police Department posted the following information on Facebook Tuesday afternoon:
On Saturday, May 25 at approximately 9 am., Early Police Officers received a call of several personal identifying documents that were thrown into a business yard in the 1000 block of Early Blvd. Officers located the owner of these items and learned that a burglary of a motor vehicle had occurred in the 100 block of Rainbow Drive, where a .45 caliber handgun was also taken.
On Sunday, May 26, Officers received a call of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a church on Sunrise Drive. After further investigation, Officers contacted the registered owner who was unaware their car had been stolen. Also missing from the vehicle was a black Guess purse and some identifying papers.
Shortly after recovering the stolen car, Officers responded to the 300 block of East River Oaks where a vehicle burglary was reported. Taken in the vehicle burglary was a .45 caliber handgun.
Investigations are continuing on these reported offenses. If anyone remembers seeing anyone out walking around during the late night or early morning hours of Friday or Saturday, please call the Early Police Department at 325-646-5322.
