Robert “Bob” Pritchard, 80, of the Owens Community in Brown County and former resident of Santa Anna, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Early surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street in Coleman. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. and will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. John Stanislaw officiating, assisted by Bro. David Taylor and Bro. Ira Taylor. Burial will follow in the Santa Anna Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
He was born Robert Glenn Pritchard on August 9, 1943 in Santa Anna to William Adolphus Pritchard and Ruby Lou Vanderford Pritchard. Bob grew up in Santa Anna, where he attended school. During his freshman year, he and his family moved to Southland where he graduated from Southland High School. Bob then attended Odessa Jr. College, earning his associate degree. On October 5, 1968, Bob married Margaret Taylor in Midland and they celebrated 55 wonderful, loving years together.
Bob and Margaret moved back to the central Texas area and he opened Frames and Things, a custom frame shop in Brownwood. Bob enjoyed his work immensely and finally framed his last picture, retiring after 37 years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed hunting and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. And everyone knew to check the sports schedule before planning any family event. But even more than sports, Bob loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. Bob was a member of the Brownwood Chamber of Commerce, President of the Downtown Brownwood Association and a member of the First Christian Church in Santa Anna.
Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Pritchard of the Owens Community; three children, Tina DeGraff of the Owens Community, Robby Pritchard and wife, Nicole, of Wilburton, Oklahoma and Bobby Pritchard and wife, Shelley, of Santa Anna. Bob is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Brandon Bowers and wife, Kallie, Kelsey Brandenburg and husband, Luke, Zachary Pritchard and wife, Kelli, Chris Reding and wife, Becky, Josh Ward and wife, Kay, Danielle Smith and husband Bobby, Westley Pritchard and wife, Taylor, Haley Singleton and husband, Josh, Kirstie Tully and husband Jordan, Kaegan Shields, Chance Meeks and fiancée, Jenna, Paisley Pritchard, Jimmy Norris; 28 great grandchildren with number 29 on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Bob is preceded in death by one brother, Don Pritchard; two sisters, Gene Turner, Sue Titsworth; a nephew, Mike Pritchard and a niece, Glenda Robbins.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brandon Bowers, Zachary Pritchard, Chris Reding, Westley Pritchard, Chance Meeks and Jacob Pritchard. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Ward, Jimmy Norris, Walt Robbins, Terry Lishka, Lynn Keller and Anthony “Bouncer” Nail.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Bob may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
