Art workshops for students who have completed 6 th – 12 th grades will be held at the Brownwood Art Center this summer.
Julie Mize, the art teacher for Brownwood Middle School, will lead three sessions in June for urban sketching, plein air watercolor (painting on site outdoors), and printmaking. In July two sessions will repeat urban sketching and printmaking; the third will be making cardboard sculptures.
Julie says that “Last year I led some student summer workshops for the first time and we all had a lot of fun. I am looking forward to doing it again this summer.”
The dates are June 25, 26, 27, then July 9, 10 and 11. All workshop times are 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Space is limited to ten participants for each workshop. The cost is $45 per day/workshop. All supplies are included in the workshop fee.
Registration and payment are in person, at the Brownwood Art Center, 215 Fisk. The Art Center is open 2-6 pm weekdays. For more information, call the Art Center at (325) 641-2916.
