Seven members of the Brownwood Lady Lions softball team received 6-4A all-district honors from the coaches of the league.
Selected as the 6-4A Catcher of the Year was junior Chloe Walls, while first-team choices included junior pitcher Tynlea Wilson, junior center fielder Jeniffer Romero, and sophomore third baseman Carlee Burks.
Making the second team were first baseman Peyton Pena, left fielder Jakayla Peek and right fielder Addison Welch.
Named to the academic all-district team were Welch, Romero, Walls, Pena, Wilson, Burks, Maitlyn Esquivel, Mykaela Mendoza, Trinity Roberts, Cadyn Christmas, Kaydence Allen and Camila Hernandez.
The Lady Lions finished with a 10-14 record, placed fourth in District 6-4A and advanced to the bi-district round of the playoffs under second-year head coach Cherita Munguia.
The rest of the 6-4A superlative winners were MVP Meagan Brooks of Graham, Offensive MVP Presley Gaitan of Stephenville, Defensive MVP Paris Tate of Graham, Pitcher of the Year Reese Calhoun of Graham, Newcomer of the Year Brooklynee Yant of Glen Rose, Utility Player of the Year Zoey Harrell of Graham, and Coaching Staff of the Year went to Graham.
Rounding out the first team were infielders Shannon Wright and Grace Booth of Glen Rose, Macy Parker of Stephenville, and Olga Morales and Emily Lawson of Graham. The rest of the first team outfielders were Stephenville’s Reese Haggard and Meg McGregor, Glen Rose’s Reese Waits and Graham’s Mayci Ryans.
Comprising the remainder of the second team were infielders Adrienne Campos and Marki Sandlin of Glen Rose, Peyton Dobbs and Tiffany Cotter of Graham, Hailey McWhorter of Mineral Wells, and Jayci Smith, Emma Villegas, Mattie-Lynn Dunnam, and Fallan Everette of the Stephenville. The outfielders are Glen Rose’s Jewel Morris, Mineral Wells’ Cadenca Colwell, and Stephenville’s Koedee Self.
