The water level at Lake Brownwood continued its gradual rise Monday following Saturday’s strong thunderstorms in the area, increasing almost another quarter of a foot.
As of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, the lake’s water level stood at 1,419.05 feet – just 5.85 feet below pool and 72.2 percent full. A mere 24 hours earlier, the lake level was 1,418.85 feet, or 6.05 feet below pool, and 71.2 percent full.
Both numbers are a stark increase from this past Friday when the water level was 1,415.61 feet, or 9.23 feet below pool, and 58.7 percent full.
Lake Brownwood’s maximum normal operating level is 1,424.9 feet and the current water level is the highest since late July 2023.
In the last 365 days, Lake Brownwood’s water level peaked on July 3, 2023, at 74.5 percent full with a level of 1,419.56 feet.
Exactly one year ago today, the lake was 57.7 percent full at 1,415.39 feet.
