The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of April 24:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water stained; 68 degrees; 8.95 feet below pool. Black bass to 8.48 pounds are excellent on jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits in 3-12 feet of water. Most of the bass are in a post spawn transition. Crappie are good in the cove pockets with black and chartreuse jigs, and in brush piles out to 10-12 feet on minnows. Some fish are spawning and a few post spawn. White bass are good on crankbaits and small swimbaits in the lights late in the day, and the bite is slow during the day. Catfish are good on cut or prepared bait around the flats
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water stained; 65 degrees; 11.66 feet below pool. Bass are good with minnows, worms and topwaters. Channel catfish and bass are good in 10-20 feet of water. Crappie are spawning biting jigs and minnows. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
SLOW. Water stained; 63 degrees; 9.50 feet below pool. Crappie are good on jigs at the docks. Crappie shallow are good.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GOOD. Water stained; 67 degrees; 31.69 feet below pool. Largemouth bass are fair to 10 pounds. Bass are schooling mid-lake with catches to 5 pounds are being caught on top waters. Swimbaits, and shad patterns jerkbaits are landing catches in 10 feet of water, and in 15 feet of water on points with worms. White bass good with limits on rattle traps and poppers. Crappie still fair up both rivers on small jigs and minnows. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.
LAKE PROCTOR
GOOD. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 12.20 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady with more anglers fishing from the shore and kayaks. Catfish, hybrids and crappie are fair to good on the banks and near the dam. Largemouth bass can be caught on soft plastics. Ramps are closed, but it is possible to launch a boat from the gravel at Buffalo Springs. Fishing from a kayak is possible.
