Clayton Burton, a dedicated truck driver for over half a century, passed away on April 16, 2024. He was known not only for his long career as a truck driver but also for his passion for genealogy research, travel adventures, and skilled domino playing. Clayton’s giving heart and overflowing kindness touched the lives of many around him.

A proudly decorated veteran who served in the United States Army, Clayton’s commitment to his country was unwavering. His proudest accomplishment was his marriage to Elsie Dinell Low in Brownwood, Texas, on January 9, 1991.

Clayton is survived by his two sons, Eric Burton and Randell Paul Burton; two stepdaughters, Cindy Dian Watts and La Vonda Eubanks; along with a host of loving grandchildren including LaChrisha LaSha Kendrick, Summer Brittni Cook, Quincy Allen James, Zachary Jimmy Scott Brooks, Miranda Nicole Watts, Brittney Lea Burton, and Clayton James Burton. Additionally, he is survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish his memory.

Clayton was preceded in death by his parents Cylas Wesley “Shorty” Burton and Joyce Walker Burton; his cherished wife Elsie Low Burton; two grandchildren David Jimmy Scott Eubanks and Destiny Davon James; and two great-grandchildren Mya Heavenly Wells and Hannah Nicole Stidham.

A graveside service to honor Clayton’s life will take place on Thursday, April 25, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM at the Mt. View Cemetery Pavilion in Coleman, Texas. Let us remember Clayton Burton not only for his dedication to serving others but also for the love he shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Burton family by signing the guestbook on Clayton’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Burton family.
