COMANCHE – The Early Lady Horns dropped their season finale to playoff-bound Comanche, 6-4, Friday in District 8-3A softball action.
Early (7-20, 4-10) led 3-0 in the top of the third inning but Comanche drew even in the bottom half. The Maidens (18-11, 10-4) took a 5-3 lead in the fourth inning, adding another run in the sixth and the Lady Horns scored once more in the seventh.
The Lady Horns finished with four hits – two by Stoney Laughlin, who drove in two; one by Marissa Reedy; and one by Sydney Greaves. Aubrey Greaves collected two RBIs.
In the circle, Sydney Greaves and Leslee Beard gave up one earned run on eight hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Comanche 14, Early Longhorns 4
COMANCHE – The Early Longhorns fell to the Comanche Indians, 14-4, Friday night in District 8-3A baseball action and are now 6-17-1 on the season and 3-9 in league play.
Comanche (12-11, 7-5) scored the first nine runs as the Indians led 2-0 after one inning, 5-0 through four frames and 9-0 heading to the top of the sixth inning, where Early scored all four of its runs. Comanche responded with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to enforce the 10-run mercy rule.
The Longhorns recorded five hits – three by Rohyn Price, who drove in two runs; and one each by Ethan Pallette and Rowan McDermed. Kamden Gamblin chalked up an RBI for Early.
On the mound, Gamblin and Weston Barton surrendered 11 earned runs on 10 hits with one strikeout and five walks. The Longhorn defense committed five errors.
