Bobby Ray Ramsey, age 81, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2024. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19th at Heartland Funeral Home in Early.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20th at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Indian Creek Cemetery.
Bobby was born in Santa Anna, on September 17, 1942, to the late Jim and Inez Ramsey. He accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior as a young man. Bobby faithfully attended Early First Baptist Church for many years with his family where he served as a deacon, helped with the Royal Ambassadors and taught Sunday School to first and second graders. He enjoyed connecting with other men of the church every Sunday morning prior to services over a cup of coffee. At the time of his passing, Bobby had been a member of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church for many years. Bobby graduated from Brookesmith High School in 1961. Following graduation, he attended a trade school in Dallas to learn auto body repair. Bobby married Ann Venita Olson on June 23, 1962. They shared 61 years together.
Bobby owned and managed Ramsey Body Works for approximately 30 years. He believed in hard work and serving others with integrity. His kind and generous spirit was evident in the way he interacted with his friends, his family and the community. Bobby loved golfing, fishing and spending time with his loved ones. He developed many close friendships on the golf course through the years.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Ann, his daughter Karen Clemmer and her husband Walt, his son Keith Ramsey and his wife Debbie; grandchildren Richard Ramsey, Wesley Ramsey, Drew Clemmer, Jared Clemmer and Makenna Ramsey. Great grandchildren; Haven, Abel, Cash and Malcom Ramsey. He is also survived by sisters Velma Poe of Richmond, Texas, LaRue George of Brownwood and half-sister Jeanette Chew of Avoca, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Inez Ramsey, brothers Dean, Donnie, Pete, Bill and Boyd Ramsey, sisters Joan Graves, Margaret Pierce, Faye Hill and three half-brothers and three half-sisters.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
