The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Friday morning:
This information is a limited summary of an investigation conducted by the Brownwood Police Department.
On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2200 block of Southside Dr. regarding a weapons offense. The caller reported that neighbors pointed a rifle at them during an argument.
When officers arrived, they identified occupants of both residences and received statements from both sides. The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Cheyenne Chase Moore.
Moore told officers that he was asleep and woke up hearing people arguing in his front yard. He exited his residence with his shotgun and observed his wife arguing with the neighbors in his yard. As Moore walked into his yard, he pointed his shotgun at the neighbors and pushed one of them to the ground by pushing her with the barrel of his shotgun.
The firearm was retrieved by the officers as evidence and Moore was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
