STEPHENVILLE – The Early Longhorns improved to 5-13-1 overall and 2-5 in District 8-3A with a 7-2 victory over the Dublin Lions in a make-up baseball game.
The Longhorns scored two runs in the second inning, one in the fifth and four runs in the seventh inning, while giving up one run in the fourth and another run in the seventh.
Early drew seven walks, took advantage of five errors and collected eight hits – two each by Ethan Pallette and Ki Houston and one apiece by Jordan Campos, Rohyn Price, Kamden Gamblin and Will Prochaska. Pallette also drove in two runs while Price, Gamblin, Prochaska and Houston added an RBI apiece.
On the mound, Landen Brandstetter and Pallette combined to allow two runs on two hits with 12 strikeouts and one walk. Early’s defense committed six errors.
The Longhorns host Brock at 7 p.m. Friday.
