The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of April 3:

LAKE BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 64 degrees; 8.71 feet below pool. Black bass to 8.08 pounds are excellent on jerkbaits, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and crankbaits in 3-8 feet of water. Bass are in all stages of the spawn. Crappie are excellent suspended in cove pockets on black and chartreuse jigs, or on brush piles with minnows in 10-12 feet of water. Some crappie are starting to spawn in 1-4 feet of water. White bass are good on crankbaits and small swimbaits. Catfish are good on cut or prepared bait around the flats.

LAKE CISCO

GOOD. Water stained; 63 degrees; 11.59 feet below pool. Crappie, bass, sand bass and channel catfish are good on worms and minnows. Report by Lake Cisco Rentals.

LAKE COLEMAN

SLOW. Water stained; 55 degrees; 9.28 feet below pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady the first week of spring. Crappie are good on jigs at the docks.

LAKE O.H. IVIE

GOOD. Water stained; 64 degrees; 31.38 feet below pool. Water clarity in the lower end near the dam 2-6 feet. Bass are in all phases of spawn in 2-10 feet of water. Variety of baits working but creature baits are working best around brush, or shad pattern crankbaits from the bank to 10 feet on flat points. Crappie are good in shallow water on red head jigs with green, and limits can be caught on minnows. Catfish good with catches up to 40 pounds on jug lines with cut shad and live perch. Report by Wendell Ramsey, Ramsey Fishing.

LAKE PROCTOR

GOOD. Water normal stain; 65 degrees; 12.05 feet below pool. Catfish, hybrids and crappie are fair to good on the banks and near the dam. Catfish should be spawning in shallow water within the month. Largemouth bass can be caught on soft plastics. Ramps are closed, but it is possible to launch a boat from the gravel at Buffalo Springs. Fishing from a kayak is possible.
