The Brownwood High School (BHS) Theatre program is thrilled to announce that the Lion Varsity Players and their One-Act Play (OAP) had an exceptional day at the UIL Bi-District contest on Wednesday. The BHS OAP “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Bronte, adapted by Robert Johanson, has advanced out of the Bi-District round and is headed to the Area Contest. The following students were also recognized for their outstanding contributions during the competition:
- Alleson Jameson – Overall Best Stage Manager
- Avery Villegas – Overall Best Lighting Technician
- Evan Fraze – Honorable Mention All-Star Cast
- RuthAnne Miller – All-Star Cast
- Emma Lee – Best Performer for the Bi-District Contest
“We are incredibly proud of our students’ hard work and dedication,” said Shannon Lee, BHS Director of Theatre. “These achievements would not have been possible without their commitment to excellence in theatre arts.”
The Lion Varsity Players will now compete at the Area Contest on April 10th & 11th, held at the Graham Memorial Auditorium. As they prepare for this next round, Brownwood ISD extends its congratulations and best wishes to these talented students!
