Rosemary N. Phillips, age 77, of Marketplace Apartments, Brownwood, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024. There will be a memorial service officiated by Pastor Leland Acker for Rosemary at 2:00pm Thursday March 28th, 2024, at Life Point Baptist Church, 599 Sunrise Dr., Early, Texas 76802.
Rosemary was born to Serapio Nieto, and Eduvigen Vickie Vasquez Nieto on November 19th, 1946, in Eden, Texas. She met the love of her life John Henry Phillips, in 1980 while working at the truck stop in Ballinger when this tall handsome Bus Driver came up to her and said, “how would you like to be my squaw” and they were married June 25th, 1983 in Ballinger, Runnels County Texas. She attended school in Ballinger up until the 6th grade, earning her GED in September 1991 while living in Cooper, Texas. Then she attended Paris Junior College pursuing a nursing degree, putting that aside when her John started having medical problems. Rosemary worked in several nursing homes as activities director, and as a Nurse’s Aide in South Dakota, and Texas. She had also been a jailer for Delta County, Texas while living in Cooper. Most importantly Rosemary was a faithful servant of God, worshiping at Life Point Baptist Church. Her interest where first, and foremost serving Christ, cooking, arts & crafts, and singing just to name a few. Her absence from this earth will be felt deeply by those that knew her.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter Maria (Teri) Boivin & Carl, of Brownwood, brother Serapio Nieto Jr. of Abilene, Stepdaughters Patricia Elmore, Rhonda Kirbie, Rogena Jespersen, Laquina McElroy, Stepson David Phillips, and a favorite very special Granddaughter Kimberly Rose Waneck of Brownwood. As well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Johnny Vasquez, and Felix Nieto, Her loving son David Nieto, a step son Toyce Phillips, very good, and long time friend Ron (Padad) Baron Sr. Per Rosemary’s wishes she is to be cremated, and placed with her parents, son, and husband.
