DE LEON – The Bangs Dragons erased a four-run deficit and took the lead late before the De Leon Bearcats forced extra innings and eventually emerged with a 7-6 victory in District 7-2A baseball action Tuesday night.
Bangs (8-6, 1-1), which was coming off a 3-1 win over De Leon Monday night in the league opener for both teams, trailed at one point 5-1, but grabbed a 6-5 lead in the top of the sixth inning.
De Leon knotted the score at 6 in the bottom of the seventh and scored the winning run in the eighth frame.
The Dragons drew eight walks and finished with eight hits – two by Hunter Crowell, who also drove in two; and one each by Kenny Cole, Hunter Newton, Kade Minshew, Zack Ferguson, Brody Newton and Conner Bible. Ferguson and Brody Newton were credited with RBIs as well.
On the mound, Cole, Ferguson and Skylar Minshew teamed up to surrender seven earned runs on eight hits with 11 strikeouts and eight walks.

Brock 2, Early Longhorns 1
BROCK – The Early Longhorns grabbed the lead after one inning, but the Brock Eagles rallied with single runs in the second and third for a 2-1 victory in the District 8-3A baseball opener for both teams Tuesday afternoon.
Early (3-9-1, 0-1) finished with just two hits – singles by Rohyn Price, who drove in a run, and Landen Brandstetter. The Longhorns did draw five walks, including two by Jordan Campos, but Brock did not commit an error in the field.
Longhorn pitchers Ethan Pallette and Weston Barton combined to yield a pair of unearned runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. The Early defense committed four errors behind them.

Brock 17, Early Lady Horns 6
BROCK – The Early Lady Horns slipped to 1-2 in District 8-3A softball action and 4-12 on the season with a 17-6 road loss at the hands of Brock Tuesday afternoon.
Early yielded seven runs in the bottom of the first inning, cut the deficit to 7-2 in the top of the third, but surrendered another seven spot in the bottom half of the frame and faced a 14-2 hole. The Lady Horns scored four more times in the fourth inning, but Brock answered with three runs in the bottom of the fourth to enforce the mercy rule.
Offensively, the Lady Horns tallied eight hits – two each by Marissa Reedy and Aleeya McCombs, who combined to drive in three runs, and one apiece by Stoney Laughlin, Sydney Greaves, Gabby Leal and Jamie Vassar. Aubrey Greaves was credited with an RBI as well.
In the circle, Sydney Greaves gave up three earned runs on 10 hits with five walks and one strikeout over four innings, as the Lady Horns defense committed a plethora of errors.
